Eleven ladies braved the cold outside temps to attend the WPW Women’s Christmas Gathering in Fellowship Hall on Sunday afternoon. Lynne Morton led everyone in an activity of singing the Twelve Days of Christmas, where each person was given a solo on different parts of the song. Church-wide Christmas Caroling was held the afternoon of Sunday, December 15. The first group met at the church at 1:30, and traveled to Manhattan to Christmas carol at Meadowlark Hills, Via Christie, and Stoneybrook retirement communities. At 4:00 pm, the second group gathered to carol to members at Vintage Park and various neighborhoods in Wamego. The weather was unseasonably warm! Both groups enjoyed temps in the 50’s. The event ended in Fellowship Hall with a soup supper

The T-Lights gathered on Sunday morning, December 15 in the church kitchen to make Christmas cookies. The teens baked and decorated sugar cookies and ginger snaps, then assembled them on plates for Community Health Ministries. Our worship service on December 8 included the annual Children’s Christmas Program. The toddler and preschool Discovery classes dressed as angels and sang to baby Jesus. The older children presented “Lessons and Carols”; sharing readings from the Books of Genesis, Isaiah, Micah, Luke, Matthew and Psalms. The Mission Committee invites everyone to join in the annual Operation Christmas Child project! Grab a specially marked shoebox from the Narthex. Locate the brochure inside with instructions. We are privileged to have a portion of the late Kay Sultzer’s nativity collection on display in Fellowship Hall. The collection includes a variety of styles and pieces, some of which were hand-made by Kay herself. Advent season is a great time to visit the display and become inspired. The Deacons hosted Christmas Caroling on the afternoon of December 9. The first group met at the church at 1:30 pm and caravanned to Manhattan. They visited our members residing at Meadowlark Hills, St. Joseph’s/Via Christi, and Stoneybrook Retirement Communities. A second group joined at the church at 4:00 pm and continued caroling in Wamego with stops at Vintage Park, Valley Vista, and various members’ homes. Children’s Christian Education presented their annual Christmas program on Sunday, December 9, during the 10:15 worship service. The program titled, “Signs of Christmas” was directed by Sarah Hancock. Thirty-three children, from preschool thru 5th grade, along with two youth leaders participated. The program included eight scenes, nine original songs, and numerous lines and props. The children and their leaders began rehearsals in early September. Special thanks go to the f
