Children’s Christmas Program

Our worship service on December 8 included the annual Children’s Christmas Program.

The toddler and preschool Discovery classes dressed as angels and sang to baby Jesus. The older children presented “Lessons and Carols”; sharing readings from the Books of Genesis, Isaiah, Micah, Luke, Matthew and Psalms. The adult choir joined the children for special music, “He is Born”, and “Baby In A Manger, Gloria!”. The congregation was also included in singing selected versus from eleven familiar Christmas hymns.

Advent activities continue at First Presbyterian this week. Join us for a full day on Sunday, December 15. The youth and their families are invited to meet in the kitchen at 9:00 am to bake and decorate cookies for CHM. Worship service begins at 10:15. The Deacons will sponsor Christmas caroling in the afternoon. Meet at the church at 1:30 to caravan and sing to members in Manhattan. Meet again at the church at 4:00 pm to continue the caroling in Wamego. The carolers and Advent study participants are invited to stay for a light supper at 5:30 pm. The weekly Advent study will begin at 6:00.

The Mission Committee reminds us that the monetary donations for the Christmas Bureau are also due this Sunday, December 15 at the church.
