Serve one another
“....the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve...Matthew 20: 28
I have a good physician friend from Manhattan, Kansas, a pulmonologist, who recently volunteered to go to a Brooklyn hospital this week to help serve the enormously stressed New York medical community. Steve has always been a strong Christian, he himself a son of a Methodist minister, which has consistently translated into service to others. In addition, he and his wife have reached out to others over the years to help make their lives a little less difficult, and have provided gracious hospitality to many, including their church families, that has enriched lives, including ours.
We take inspiration from people as these who “walk the walk” and show us what it means to “love one another as Jesus loved us.”
Prayer: We ask that you provide protection and safety for all those who serve in the medical community. Let us be grateful for their service. Amen.
